If you know me in real life, pretend you didn’t see this.
Otherwise, here are some draws of Bucky staring at things ^ ^

Do you have a good starting place rec for the Winter Soldier comics, Sam?
Mmh, that’s a hard one, I haven’t actually read much about Bucky Barnes beyond his appearances in other peoples’ comic books. 😀
There’s a post going around critiquing the idea that Natasha had any kind of control over her causeway fight with Bucky, that it “dehumanizes” her by not letting her have faults/get into trouble. Except it doesn’t, because she was not “terrified out of her mind.”
We’ve seen what she looks like when she is that scared when she was up against the Hulk. Natasha facing the Hulk looks nothing like Natasha tangling with Bucky. You didn’t see her smiling at the Hulk when she was running from him, even those few times she managed to slip out of his reach successfully before he caught up with her. Furthermore, that was a very deliberately filmed reaction shot. The directors wanted that smile in there, to show her state of mind, and they made sure Scarlett would be able to concentrate on the perfect smile – she was literally given running shoes to wear for that one shot so she could focus on her acting and not worry about tripping in her high heeled boots.
I don’t know how anyone could miss the symbolism of Nat cracking his goggles and forcing him to remove them, giving us the first glimpse of the man behind the mask? She opened his eyes. Not only that, but she’d made him angry, the first sign of human emotion he displays in the movie – a rather emotional outburst of rage as he shoots down at her.
(under a cut because this got a bit longer)
suddenly really want the opening to Cap 3 to be a replay of the train, re-shot from different angles to really mess with the perception of what happened and who’s POV this is supposed to be and the sound is harsh and abrasive and too loud and you can hear the bullets ricochet and the guns blast, the klnnng of the shield against metal and you can really hear how raspy Bucky’s breath is and how calm Steve sounds and then
“Bucky look out”
and the blast of the laser and the cacophony of the shield and the guns and the side of the train and metal on metal being torn apart and then just the wind the air howling and screeching and the metal groaning underneath Bucky’s hands and barely hearing Steve call out and the wind the wind the wind
and no music and no lead up just the wind and “take my hand” and the wind and then the drop-
and then he jerks awake and tries to catch his breath and all the audience sees is this figure in shadow in bed, trying to find his footing again, and you can’t really tell if it’s Steve or if it’s Bucky
because it doesn’t really matter, because they both dream about the damn train
why this
I <3 your scribbles!

I had a brief affair with the idea of the Winter Soldier hallucinating a younger Steve after the events of the film. This ghost of a memory would serve as his slowly recovering sense of right and wrong, telling him not to kill for vengeance and telling him to defend those who are downtrodden.
He doesn’t fully recognize the boy — he certainly doesn’t yet equate him with Captain America — but some part of him desperately wishes to listen to his words.
Regardless of these feelings, the Winter Soldier continues to ignore him. He still has a mission to do: eliminate Hydra.
