Cohabitation in the Twenty-first Century: Rules and Guidelines by Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes (a fic by notallbees & lickerswish, resident tumblr grannies)

lickerswish and I started writing stupid rules for Steve and Bucky living together post-Winter Soldier, and then it somehow morphed into this!?

You can also read on Ao3 😀 (we love kudos: it gives us queer superpowers <3)

(also, if you have trouble reading their stupid super soldier handwriting, drop me a line for the typed version)

This whole thing started because I was bitching about my roommates to notallbees over IM. Everyone who’s ever told me my negative attitude would get me nowhere in life must be feeling preeeettttty stupid right now, huh?

And yes we are the most badass grannies on Tumblr. Clear the road, everyone.

I have to say that a text version of this story hosted online in an easily accessible place rather than being something a reader has to request would be really useful. My partner, who is dyslexic and has visual sensitivity that leads to regular migraines tried to read this fanwork as-is and couldn’t. I haven’t read it, but I am autistic and have associated sensory sensitivity. Both of us use the Reversi theme on AO3 – light text on black background – to reduce the amount of light we have to expose our eyes to, and image files can’t be reversed. I understand the beauty of fanworks that theme themselves after ephemera – letters, notes – but when there is no text version or alt text, they’re also completely inaccessible to screen readers, which people with visual distortion or blindness need to translate text to an audible format. Having a text version is great, but having it be something that people have to petition to read is kind of awkward, and a bit of a barrier to those of us who have social phobias about initiating contact with strangers. It’s an accessibility issue, I guess is what I’m saying.

Chris Pratt Interrupts Interview To French Braid Intern’s Hair

SHUT THE HELL U P

this man has gone too far

damn

Where does Marvel FIND these people?

Imagine – Chris Pratt and Jeremy Renner show up to your door the night of prom and your parents are like WHY DO YOU HAVE TWO DATES AND WHY ARE THEY SO BIG AND BEEFY AND INTIMIDATING but Chris is just like “Nah I’m hair” and Jeremy raises his hand and says “And I’m makeup”

surprisingly well done

If this doesn’t result in an AU where Hawkeye and Star-Lord decide to retire and open a salon together, I don’t know what we’re all doing with our lives.

this post just keeps getting better

There are tears in my eyes

Okay. It will never be completed. So… There is some fem!Bucky hmmm some kind of cosplay. I don’t know. But my friend Tanya and I think that she’s sooo Winter Soldier, cz she has the same hair, grumpy face and hasn’t a left arm (she was born without it), so we did it 😀
The riffle is a full Barret M82 replica. The shield and the arm are made by razvodnoi klyuch. Thanx to glukauf and fa11fox for help with the retouch.
And yeah, the last four pics are inspired by colnchen’s The Soldier’s Diaries *_*

Btw: the two first photos was made on the eve of the 9 May, the Victory Day in Moscow, and, you know, we was on the roof of this tall building that is situated near the Lomonosov Moscow State University, with this big riffle… We felt like true soviet assassins 😀

This is AWESOME
I absolute really really love all of you and that lovely dog! Thank you!!

One of the things that struck me about the scene in the bank vault in CA:TWS is just who is in the room. There are two people who I will consider doctors, one of whom  may be the “doctor in charge”.  There is at least one technician who deals with the Winter Soldier’s arm.  And then there are the guards.

The Winter Soldier is just sitting there, getting his arm fixed when the memories of the time when he was Bucky Barnes, of the time when he was just becoming what he is now, comes bleeding through.  Up until that point, when he throws the technician across the room, he was behaving as they expected.   And yet, despite this, they still have maybe half a dozen guards with guns in the room who draw on him the moment he acts and stay drawn on him until Pierce comes in the room and waves them down.

How does the Winter Soldier interpret the presence of armed guards? What does this mean to him?  He certainly has enough tactical understanding to know that the very fact that the guards are there (even when the guns are not yet drawn) means that the men he serves do not trust him.  They are telling him, he is dangerous, even to them.
