6.5km today. And I did three runs. I ran for ALL of I’m Not Okay (3m8s), half of Mama (2m20s) and half of Planetary Go! (2m). And I survived!
When I got home, I had a shower and used my bar of Rock Star for the first time (which I LOVED) and had a hummus, vegetable and salmon cake wrap and felt very virtuous.

Short walk today, with a run for nearly all of Planetary Go! (about two and a half minutes maybe?). Then I went on the machines and did my first strength training of the year. I did the whole three sets, though I was about six minutes slower and some of the weights were lighter than I’d worked up to before I stopped. The three rotations took me forty-six mintues.

Started out today at 6.4kph, notched up each song until I hit 7kph, ran for two minutes of I’m Still Breathing (until I couldn’t), dropped back to 6.5kph, notched up again to 7kph, ran for 1.5mins, dropped back to 6.5kph, notched up until 6.9kph when my ride arrived.

(Ignore the max speed, I hit the wrong button at the beginning.)

Went for the 5k today while Mum and @kath-ballantyne went to the pool. Started out at 6.4kph then in the last half bumped the speed up a little at a time until I hit 7kph. Actually did a little bit of running at that speed. Didn’t time it, maybe three or four minutes? Until I started feeling a little wheezy and hated everything, anyway.

Have a post-workout selfie. (Tired) autistic punk gym aesthetic.

Yesterday felt easy. Today was a hard, dogged slog, with the internal chant of ‘ten more minutes, now ten more, now ten more.’ Started out and did about half of it at 6.4kph, then dropped to 6.0kph for the remainder. Honestly wanted to give up after the first kilometre, so I don’t know what it says about me that I was stubborn enough to push on for another sixty seven-odd mintues.

I also worked out I take about 14 steps for every ten metres, which I will use to calculate average steps per walk at some later time when I can think.

Well, I did my first 8k of the year. Did about 7.25k of it at 6.4kph, then dropped it to 6kph for the final 0.75k. Did this despite the ambient temperature in the gym being at least 30C because their aircon was NOT keeping up with the heat outside, and despite the blister on my heel I felt from about 1.8k that wound up about an inch across.

And then I had KFC for dinner. Which I haven’t had since October, so it’s not as bad as it could be if it was a habit, but still.

So, right now I regret my choices, but at the same time REALLY DON’T regret my choices.

(Seriously, the buzz from burning off my anxiety adrenalin, and the food were both SO GOOD…)

We’ll be stimming…

Got to the gym today for the first time since the New Year. Autistic burnout has tanked my immune system, so I got a summer cold two weeks before Christmas, and then I had a persistent cough until about a week ago. Then this last week has been the hottest of the summer so far.

Mum and @kath-ballantyne were going swimming, so I figured I should get back into things, too. Had a pretty bad anxiety attack while I was getting dressed, but I pushed through, reminding myself I’d burn off the adrenaline once I got there.

Got on a treadmill with my headphones and my Tangle Therapy, knowing I’d need something besides music today. I held my Tangle in my right hand and stimmed a bunch with it as I worked out, and no one gave me any shit.

Did 5km mostly at 6.5kph, with a couple of slow songs at 6.0kph and a fast bit at 7.0kph at the end because my ride was waiting for me in the carpark from about 4.8k. 🙂

New flavour of protein shake, which tastes… almost identical to the last flavour. Just as well I don’t mind it.
