Check out the trailer for DEEJ, a film made by an non-speaking autistic advocate!

“A nonspeaking young man dreams of autistic civil rights. The
documentary film DEEJ with its insider view of autism, challenges us all
to live inclusion.”

Genuinely sitting here with tears in my eyes. I read Reasonable People some years ago now, and it remains one of my favourite autism books, period. Since I found out there might be a film, I’ve been waiting, patiently, hopefully, and this looks like it’s going to be just as amazing as I hoped. So excited for the full movie. So happy.

Y’ALL

Y’ALL

Y’AAAALLLLLLL

Holy DAMN.

Everyone, go to youtube and leave some incoherent NOISES for this.

Fantastic!

I LOVE this. The syncopation, the musicality –sensational integration and interplay between the music and the soundwork. God, I’m so impressed, and just delighted. It’s DELIGHTFUL

Holy shit, this is AMAZING! I would recommend clicking the Watch on Youtube and give it a thumbs up!

This is pretty much my favourite marvel vid of all time.

(If you have the bandwidth, watch it hidef. Seriously.)

So I hadn’t cut my hair in about six years and it was most of the way down my back. It’s one of the hottest summers on record and I reached my limit. So I got @kath-ballantyne to attack me with scissors. She’s been my hairdresser since I was seventeen/eighteen.

Short. Really short. Shorter than I’ve ever had it. So comfortable. It dried in about a half an hour when I washed it, rather than, oh, eight hours. It’s short enough that it’s not tickling the back of my neck or my forehead, which are major sensory issues for me. And it should be easy enough to maintain. The ridiculously tiny amount of shampoo I need! Seriously, I was using a cupped palmful before, this time, it took like a ten-cent piece dab.

For now, it’s longer on top, but if I decide in a week that I want it shorter all over, we can do that.
