Steve did finally get to dance.
This is for winter-shield who requested Steve and Bucky getting married. My mind went straight to UNIFORMS of course, so the result is mess uniform porn. I did a bit of research on US Army mess uniforms, but then I took a fair few liberties (was I going to draw a billion little medals? Nope. But I gave them SSR pins, hehehe). Now the question is, which Avenger will catch the bouquet? 😉
(I also think they’d be a bit tentative about kissing in front of everyone, but Steve just can’t resist trying to get Bucky to kiss him on the dance floor).

No matter how far Bucky runs, or how much progress he makes in rebuilding his life, he can’t shake the feeling that Hydra are following him and working to control him again.
I couldn’t stop myself – I just had to give him a pin with Steve’s wings for his jacket ;).
So, let’s face it, in 9/10 pre-war Steve/Bucky fics winters in the 1930’s meant one thing: Bucky pulling Steve into bed and wrapping himself around him to keep him warm, cuddling him to his chest.
Even if Steve might have been a stubborn mule and refused to ask for Bucky to hold him through the war (because he didn’t need the heat any more after the serum) he probably missed sleeping in that position a lot.
After finding Bucky again, I doubt he can keep up the stubborn when it comes to this though ;).

Didn’t even need to use any references for the metal arm, that’s how often I’ve drawn the damned thing now ;).
The cybernetic arm is heavy and gives Bucky a lot of muscle pain in his neck, shoulders, and upper back. Steve does what he can to help with that.
For once I’m actually happy with how Sebastian Stan’s face turned out in one of my drawings! Although my fav thing to draw in this pic was the metal arm…

Just reread your blue-eyed boys, which has a bunch of Steve massaging knots out of Bucky that he gets from the weight of the arm, and this turned up on my dash like a perfect counterpart.
