A preview of what’s gonna be posted at The Life of Bucky Barnes in the next three months. I didn’t have the time nor energy to draw a lot since November but I have enough material to keep you at least busy until May. 🙂

The boys will travel to France and to Florida. I hope you’ll like it! ^^

For thousands of years, we told stories from one generation to the next. Our stories help us to understand how the world is ordered and our place within it. But what good are old stories if the wisdom they contain is not shared?

In Never Alone, players take on the roles of Nuna, a young Iñupiaq girl and an Arctic fox, in an atmospheric puzzle platformer that combines traditional folklore, stories, settings, and characters handed down over many generations by Alaska Native people whose roots and heritage date back millennia.

Featuring imagery and themes drawn directly from Iñupiat and other Alaska Native cultures, Never Alone features striking visuals, emphasizes the sensibilities and perspective of these indigenous Arctic people and requires players to work cooperatively to succeed in challenging and harsh environments. [x]

Can we also talk about how this is being created by the first indigenous game company in the US?

I saw the dev session at Eurogamer and the story of the studio is absolutely amazing. They had the most beautiful photo of one of the most respected storytellers, a woman in her eighties, utterly delighted by the game, controller in hands.

Definitely pick this up and support the wonderful people behind this game.

This is the type of game I’ve been waiting forever for.

I want it

I’ve posted about Never Alone previously; I wanted to point out that it is being released on November 18, 2014.

Finally! Deadpool To Hit Theaters In 2016

Just a few hours after star Ryan Reynolds opened up about the reaction to the Deadpool leaked footage, 20th Century Fox has announced they are moving forward with the film and given it a February 12, 2016 release date, just three months before the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. Ryan Reynolds is expected to star with director Tim Miller at the helm and a script by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

NOVEMBER RELEASE FOR “A HERO AT THE END OF THE WORLD,” FROM BIG BANG PRESS.

After a few months of work and a successful Kickstarter campaign, it’s time for Big Bang Press to announce the release date of OUR FIRST BOOK!

Written by Erin Claiborne (AKA fanfic author eleveninches), A Hero at the End of the World is a Young Adult fantasy satire of “Chosen One” narratives like BuffyHarry Potter and Percy Jackson

“Seventeen-year-old Ewan Mao has spent his whole life preparing for his destiny: defeating the evil tyrant who’s been terrorizing Britain for as long as he can remember. But Ewan never dreamed that when the time came, his best friend Oliver Abrams would fulfill the prophecy instead.

Five years later, Ewan is living at home and working in a coffee shop while Oliver is a national hero, working at the Serious Magical Crimes Agency. But the two friends are unwillingly reunited when a strange magical cult targets Ewan in a plot to end the world as we know it.”

This book will be published on November 11, 2014, and will soon be available for pre-order in both paperback and ebook format!

The art in this post is by Jade Liebes (hydrae), who illustrated A Hero at the End of the World. We’ll be posting the full cover art and some sample illustrations soon, along with a sample chapter from the book!

Last December, BBP used Kickstarter to crowdfund three original novels by talented authors from the fanfic community. The Kickstarter was a huge success and was covered by all sorts of media outlets including io9, WiredHelloGiggles, and Hypable. You can find out more on our website, including info about our next two books, written by Kady Morrison (gyzym) and Natalie Wilkinson (febricant).

I’M SO EXCITED TO FINALLY POST ABOUT THIS! Erin’s book is hilarious and amazing. I can’t wait for more people to read it!!

no joke, y’all, erin’s book is a breath of fresh air in a stuffy ya dystopia hellscape

HAWKEYE #19

MATT FRACTION (W) • DAVID AJA (A/C)

“Rio Bravo” – PART 4

• The sense-shattering fallout of the Clint vs. the Clown — Clint Barton has been deafened!

• With the Barton Brothers this battered and bloodied, surely they’ll make easy pickins for the Bros, right? Bro? Seriously?

• If we do our jobs right THIS time, this issue will be the Dog Issue of Sign Language issues

This is so important. This is so damn important.

Not only is Fraction undoing the retcon of other writers who took away Clint’s disability, but he’s taking that disability back to his childhood before it originally started in classic canon.

This is so important because Fraction is refusing to let Clint’s disability be overwritten anymore so long as he has hold of the tenure.

YES THIS.

I have been upset that they ~magically fixed~ Clint’s hearing since I found out he was ever deaf, and the idea that he’s been hard of hearing since a childhood “accident” (aka – you know it was his dad, I am sure it was his dad) that was unable to heal fully because y’know HIS EARDRUMS WERE DAMAGED is just.  Yes good.  Especially since Fraction said he’s been writing Clint as if he’s been hard of hearing since he was a kid, and getting “fixed” only took him back to the level he was at before the sonic arrow incident.

This is so important to me for reasons I can’t even entirely express and basically this is the best thing and I’m going to cry while I read it.

This explanation that he’s been hard of hearing all along would also make me feel better about the “Spanish-sounding stuff” that turns out to be Russian (probably), as if Clint Barton wouldn’t recognize Spanish (living in BedStuy? Please.) or Russian (working closely with a Russian ex-pat and also an intelligence agency employee).

Fraction has explicitly said that’s what was intended by those captions/speech bubbles/whatever you want to call them.  I wish it’d been more explicit in the comics themselves, but that was what he was going for.
