Hey you know that post that went around about ebay listings for super cheap tangle toys?

My tangles arrived today. They arrived in two padded envelopes. (I ordered two from the original listing, and two from the second when the first listing expired.) Despite the listings saying the tangles were generic, they are ALL genuine tangles, or very good knock offs with the official Tangle logo. They got my colour choices bang on correct. It got to me in exactly two weeks, which is SUPER QUICK for Australia.

So, I spent approximately $16AUD to get four tangles. For comparison, to buy ONE I’d be lucky to get it for that price once shipping is factored in.

So, go get ‘em, peeps. They’re legit, they’re cheap, they’re quick, and they actually send you the right product.

So, my Fitbit finally arrived! For those following the saga, yes, this is the Fitbit that I ordered through redemption in OCTOBER. My gym finally sent an email out that they were no longer with the promotion company and my Fitbit was on its way. Less than a week later…

So far I really like it. It seems to track my workouts fine. I’m a bit frustrated at the app, at finding the stats I’m used to seeing. I’m unused to thinking of my workouts in steps, not distances. I never had pedometer measurements from my phone.

One amusing thing is that apparently if I rock at the right intensity it counts as steps. Which I guess, yeah, it’s burning energy.

Also, my resting rate if sitting up seems to be 80-100bpm, which I guess is the anxiety. I mean, it’d be nice if I was actually burning fat sitting on my couch feeling afraid of everything, but I doubt it.

Pizza & wings, plus Working Girl on Netflix

Relaxing and waiting for Jimmy John’s

Leftover pizza, cider, Desperate Housewives

Reading for diss. Because a diss doesn’t recognize weekends.

Wine, potato chips, and teevee. Oh and pretending that I am not defending my dissertation next Thursday.

Just ordered Italian delivery, watching the O.J. mini series, cuddling the orange cat.

Eating leftovers, panicking about a TV interview I have tomorrow in NY.

Pre-marinated chicken from TJ’s, and The Magicians on Netflix, with my hubby who’s in a very cuddly mood and it’s nice.

Snuggling with my dog (whose paw pads smell especially nice), reading strange 1940s comics.

Oh, and? I just found a random box of pocky in the drawer of my bedside stand. I have no idea where they came from. I don’t care.

Avocado and salsa, thinking about dyeing my hair and cleaning, but will probably comics blog instead.

Chinese food and sparkling cider, Netflix and debating getting my hair cut

Tortellini, ginger ale, ukulele, fanfic.

Leftover con carne, coffee, Once Upon A Time and rocking a bunch to stim because rocking is awesome.

letters-to-lgbt-kids:

My dear lgbt+ kids,

This letter is for all of you who stim.

You’re not “crazy” or “weird”. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with you.

Stimming is completely natural and normal – not only the kinds of stimming other people may consider aesthetic, such as glitter slime or paint mixing, but also hand-flapping, pacing, rocking, chewing etc.

You’re lgbt+, on the autism spectrum and stim? You’re lovely.

You’re lgbt+, have sensory processing disorder and stim? You’re lovely.

You’re lgbt+, have anxiety and stim? You’re lovely.

You’re lgbt+ and stim? You’re lovely!

With all my love,

Your Tumblr Mom

PS: “Wait, what is stimming?” Stimming is self-stimulatory behavior –

repetitive behaviors with which people stimulate and calm themselves. By repeating one stimuli, they block out other stimuli and avoid over-stimulation. It’s most prevalent in people with the above mentioned conditions.

Bracelet I found that I decided would be good for stealthy stimming. Hard, heavy, plastic beads with a matt texture on a stretchy string. Unfortunately, there was no stealthy colour option – the choice was hot pink, hot orange or hot yellow. Cost: $3.

Since the Manhattan puzzle was so awesome, I hit up the bigger Target today and bought the eight puzzles they had that I hadn’t already bought. Highlights include a Bourbon Street and a San Fransico puzzle by the same artist that did the Manhattan one! So I now have ten puzzles, all 500 pieces, all small enough to do on the piano stool while sitting on my sofa, all $1 each.

Also, I’d liked a Beanie Boos plushie at the other Target, but thought it was too large to be practical to carry around with me. It was a rainbow cat. This Target had a whole shelf full of this brand of plush, some larger, like the cat, some smaller. They didn’t have the cat in the smaller size, but they did have this owl which I immediately fell in love with and didn’t want to put down. He’s so soft, even the glittery bits, and I couldn’t stop rubbing him against my face the whole way to the checkouts. Oh, and according to his tag, his name is Oscar. He was $7.
