Wouldn’t it be awesome if there was a pro-Neurodiversity, pro-Autism documentary starring actual autistic advocates?

Wouldn’t it be amazing if this educational film exposed the controversy of Autism Speaks, while at the same time covering topics like the Judge Rotenberg Center and the horrifying society-sanctioned pattern of disabled people being murdered by their caregivers?

Wouldn’t the icing on the cake be an exploration of the Autism Acceptance/Neurodiversity movement through the eyes of autistic people, featuring interviews with Ari Ne’eman of The Autistic Self Advocacy Network, Landon Bryce of thAutcast, artist/author Robyn Steward and autism activist Zoe Gross?

This film exists! The documentary is Citizen Autistic, Produced by William Davenport, and it needs help. William Davenport is currently trying to raise enough money to be able to do a screening tour and bring this incredibly important film to people all over the US. They have an indiegogo campaign here, and their goal is to raise $5000.

This is a big opportunity for the a/Autistic community to spread a message of truth. As William Davenport said, “After screening the film, people have remarked to me, ‘I didn’t even know that adults have autism’.” Right now the loudest voices are the voices coming from Autism Speaks and other pro-cure and anti-acceptance organizations led and directed by non-autistics. But films like Citizen Autistic can be a part of changing that!

Even though my funds are very limited, I just donated $25 to this because the $25 perk is a DVD copy, and as an Australian, it’s likely that this is my only legit way of getting to see this film. So if you’re an international autist who wants to see Citizen Autistic and can afford it, donating is a great way of not only helping out, but allows you to experience the film, too.

Attention oral stimmers! (Or oral stimming-curious people)

I was recently sent some products by Chewigem for my video review, three out them I tests out very literally…by chewing the heck out of them. These three products however, I chose to review based on their thickness, size, tactility etc (i.e. I did not chew them up…) so that I would be able to share them out! They were shipped to me new and I have handled them, then washed them and put them back in their packaging.

So this is a giveaway! The products are listed above and the rules are listed below!

so hey i’m starting college soon!!! and also getting top surgery soon!!! WOAH so many things happening. Basically I need money for textbooks,various school fees, and to help my parents pay for my surgery.

The textbooks and software I need for the engineering school are super duper expensive (altogether i’ll be spending several hundred dollars on the technology fee, textbooks, and the software bundle that I need for my classes)

Right now im worrying the most about paying for things ill need for school since my mom keeps telling me not to worry about paying for the surgery cause she may be getting a new job soon but i dont want to pressure her so much with all these money troubles

My name is Adele or Kat, the latter is more of a nickname. I’m a 21 year old trans girl who is also a type 1 diabetic with no insurance. I’m in the making of a post about needing help affording my insulin and other medication, but I’m waiting to post it until I have my PayPal connected to my new bank account. Basically, insulin is really expensive when you don’t have insurance, a single vial is over $400 and I obviously won’t be able to afford it when my current amount runs out, I’m currently selling stuff on the side to help alleviate this stress, but in the mean time if you could buy an Amazon gift card and enter my email address togekisses@gmail.com into it, then that would definitely allow me to save up money as well, even if it’s only $1, that’s one less dollar I have to spend out of pocket for water, non-perishable food, toothepaste, bathing needs, etc. and I would very much appreciate it and I will try my hardest to email you a personal thank you for helping me out.

The Eagle Bull- Oxendine family is being sued by their child’s school for defamation, because they asked the school to permanently change their offensive and culturally insensitive Thanksgiving curriculum and to honor a two-year scholarship taken from their daughter after they voiced their concern over Native appropriation there.

They’re raising funds to defray mounting legal expenses. Please share this link and donate what you can. If they lose, we all lose. This case has the potential to set dangerous precedent where Natives are effectively gagged from speaking out against appropriation and the abuse of our culture and sacred ways by mainstream society. This is legal conquest. We can’t allow them to play Indian and hide behind judicial robes to do it. Thank you.
