seriously, i mean if nothing else peggy has a video in the cap exhibit, that shot of the picture of her in his compass is probably legendary, and natasha is a smart smart woman.
plus y’know. she’s not even looking at the picture for more than half a second when she asks. She’s looking at STEVE.
This was always my head canon. She’s feeling him out. She keeps getting excuses why not, why he won’t date these girls, and there’s that cutie at the park that she saw Steve hanging out with, and she thought, oh, hello, maybe Cap’s batting for the other team, but then she sees his face in this scene and dares to ask, and his reaction is enough to answer. He’s not gay, though he might be equal opportunity in the sexuality department and regardless, he’s too messed up still to really be ready to talk about Peggy. Because unlike Bucky, who died and he mourned even though it was just for a short while, Peggy is still alive and Steve still feels fidelity to her, even though it’s been a lifetime for her, and she didn’t pine away alone but had a family.
Did you know at the set of Capitan America 2. Chris Evans couldn’t tell apart Scarlett Johanson’s stunt doubles from her so he would start talking to them as in they were Scarlett and the stunt doubles played the game ” How long would it take Chris to figure out im not Scarlett” . Apparently the record was 10 minutes.
There is no source for this listed but I love this so much I don’t care if it is true or not because it has become my head canon forever.
Added awesomeness is that Chris Evans has known Scarlett for over a decade and if this is true it makes him even more of an adorable, easily trollable dork than I previously imagined.

ok so i was watching this gif carefully
and when i first saw it i was like “aww Nat jumping into steve’s lap that’s so cute she’s like AHH STEVE SAVE ME” and then i was thinking ‘well she probably realized he’s way stronger than she is and could help shield her if they crashed’
but then i kept watching it and i noticed how she immediately pulls him forward
and first i thought it was the momentum of her jump but you can clearly see in the gif how she gets settled (quickly) THEN pulls him close to her
and then i realized
that is a bullet hole.
Nat somehow knew EXACTLY where Steve was gonna get shot at, jumped up into his seat, and saved him
