As an update, they’ve moved into a house together and are still super cute

Gundam Guy is truly a man of patience and diligence. From his attention to detail building his models to the loving attention and detail for his wife.

Hey all!

Elle is actually one of my ride or dies. We became friends about 8 or 9 years ago on this here blue website, and I love her so fucking much.

Their story is sweet, but unfortunately, they’re going through some hard times. Elle’s endometriosis is super bad, and she’s neck deep in medical bills, on top of being unable to work due to the disease. This is making it really hard for them to keep up with other bills, as she can’t supplement their household income.

She’s had a GoFundMe up for a long time now, but it still has a long way to go. They really do need the help so they can live their cute ass lives!!

If you can boost this and maybe consider donating (instead of that Kylie bullshit), it would be incredible. I’m posting this on her behalf since she doesn’t use Tumblr anymore.

Thank you!!!

Diane Duane Is in some financial difficulties and is asking people to take a look at her ebook store, which has her and Peter Morwood’s catalogues (or at least the stuff to which they have the rights.)  The prices are very good, so if you’ve wanted to get a Young Wizards box-set, you can get them now for ~$2 a book.

boost!!

Diane’s books were really formative to a lot of my early reading experiences, Young Wizards in particular, and while it looks like their immediate financial crisis has passed (looking at their blog post) I’d like to boost this to make you, my lovely followers, aware of Diane’s (And Peter’s!) work and how you can get your mitts on them in a way that directly impacts the author for the better.

Her and @petermorwood very kindly sent me a lovely message when Max the Beagle died, and I was incredibly touched, if too distraught at the time to manage a coherent reply. So if I could get a boost over this, family, I’d really appreciate it. They’re good kind people and deserve it.

Plus, y’know, the Young Wizard series is currently $19.99 instead of $39.99 and if I didn’t already own them, I’d be all over that like hot butter on toast.

I bought the whole young wizards series, because I’ve always meant to read them!

So uh. I finally got the job I’ve been wanting, but it’s going to be another 3 weeks before I get my first paycheck, and while I’ve got enough to get me through for a while, I’m pretty drained and can’t really swing the cost of a physical therapy appointment for my subluxated rib that forced me to stop binding. It’s not urgent, but I’ve been putting it off for months and it’s getting hard to ignore, and I’d like to start treating it sooner rather than later. I feel awkward about having a ko-fi and weirder still for posting about it, but if you want to and are a financially-secure adult, I’d, uh, be grateful for any small support via ko-fi if you’re willing and eager to swing it.

My laptop died last week and I’m raising money to help get a new laptop that is more reliable.

I am an autistic stay-at-home parent with multiple disabilities and no means to save money, and I need a laptop to stay connected to my friends, manage my media library, and do android development.

If all my followers donated 0.50 USD, I’d have more than enough. Please consider contributing and signal boosting.

Performative allyship

cishetsrgross:

khalifaziz:

I see more posts by white people asking if it’s “okay” for them to see Black Panther than I do see them asking for links to charity campaigns trying to help young Black kids see the movie.

which is to say the BP tags have like three of the former posts every day, but I have yet to see a SINGLE post by a white person asking people to send them links for campaigns they can support.

I need someone to realize that this is the pinacle of performative allyship.

they’re out here trying to get their hoodpass into wakanda but aren’t ready to let Jerome hold a dollar. They want to be invited to the cookout, but won’t even bring a bag of ice. They want to think themselves the ‘special white people’ but don’t actually want to do the work of the special white people.

and before you, white person clearly missing the point of this posts asks, yes, you CAN reblog this if it’s to show support of the message.

Here’s some links, btw, to gofundmes that still need funding for helping black kids see Black Panther:

This is really useful because the charity screenings we were going to donate to had met their goal by the time we went to give, so, for anyone wanting to help kids see this film, here’s a list!

Hey, after losing one of our dogs last September our other pup got in to some really dark chocolate this Saturday and we had to get him to the vets and it’s totally cleaned us out money wise. Any tiny amount helps, or share if you can. We’re offering knitted hats or gloves or handspun yarn to any donations over $50.

Thanks everyone.

We’ve started this because after Pip’s end-of-life treatment in September and the family of three stray cats microchipping, desexing and registration from March to July last year, we’re looking at our third major vet expense in under twelve months. Anything will help, and if you can’t donate, please signal boost.

Reblogging to say thank you SO MUCH to those who have donated so far, you have no idea how much it means to us. There were actual tears earlier when I saw people had helped out, both by giving money and by signal boosting. Dougall is home and is doing well. His bloods were great, and apart from being super anxious, exhausted and hoarse from barking for his whole hospital stay, he’s fine. Right now, he’s sleeping it all off in our bed (a very special treat) with Emma.

candidlyautistic:

Hi friends!

My name is Samantha, and I am
asking for your help. I’m facing student loan repayments that could halt my
academic work studying the social psychology of autistic culture. If you’d like
to help or learn what it’s like to be disabled, autistic, and in college, keep
reading!

About Me

I’m an autistic woman double
majoring in psychology and sociology. Advocacy work for the autistic community
is my greatest passion. My hope is that as an autistic myself, I can introduce
the broader perspective of the autistic community into the study of autism. I
want to fill the holes left by other researchers. I want to ask the hard
questions and study overlooked topics from a sociology perspective.

But now I need our
community’s help.

Here’s what happened

Last semester my autoimmune
disease flared, my chemotherapy failed, and that left me unable to leave the
house for classes. At the worst point of the semester I could not leave my bed.
I failed every course for the semester. Not because my work was bad, not
because I couldn’t study, but because my health held me prisoner. My student
advisor is helping me retroactively medically withdraw from my classes, but
academia moves slowly when it comes to fixes and very quickly when it comes to
payment deadlines.

The school returned $1600 to
the loan company and added that sum as a $1600 debt on my student account. This
means that I cannot return to school until the debt is fully paid.

I learned about this by an
automatic email sent after the school closed for the holidays. Not exactly the
present I asked Santa for this year.

A medical withdraw fixes the
debt, but it takes months to process.

In the meantime, I have until January 14th to pay the hold or I will not be able to attend school. I
just don’t have $1600.

And that’s why I’m reaching
out to you now.

How You Can Help

I have no idea if I can raise
this money in two weeks. I’m terrified of not being able to.

But now that we have a working treatment for my disorder, I have to try. Will you
try with me?

PayPal donations can be made
to candidlyautistic@gmail.com. At this point, donation websites will take
to long to transfer funds.

Here’s my promise to you: I
will be transparent with donations, replying in the comments of this post with
a running tally of donations. Any help is appreciated.

Sincerely and Gratefully,

Samantha

I’ve gotten a $30 donation from one person (so many thanks, you know who you are), and I still need help.

I do want to take a moment to thank all the people who helped me out when I was offering tarot readings. (Also, if this ever reaches the person I didn’t reply to, I’m so sorry, I accidentally deleted your ask when trying to make my reply not public, please send another ask, because for the life of me I can’t remember your username.) You’ve been great, and if I hadn’t gotten sick last week, missed a lot of work due to vomiting uncontrollably, and had to pay for a doctor visit and an even larger amount of (expensive) meds than expected, I’d have a much smaller target goal right now. If you’ve helped me out already, please don’t feel like I’m asking for more from you – a signal boost would be great, but you’ve seriously done enough already.

$90! Thanks so much, everyone!
