Save the viking goats!!!

Johanna Thorvaldsdóttir’s Icelandic goat farm (Háafell) is facing foreclosure in September, resulting in the entire goat flock being butchered – unless enough funds are raised to save it!

There are less than 820 Icelandic goats in the entire world – they are an endangered species. Almost half of them will be lost if this farm is not saved. I visited Háafell 2 years ago and every goat I draw is rooted in this place. Any little bit helps 🙂

If anyone I know eats any of these goats, we’re not friends anymore.

There are only 13 days left on the fundraiser and it’s still got 42% to go!  Save the adorable babies!!!!

The farm has met their original goal, so the goats will NOT go to slaughter and the farm is safe, but they are asking that the signal keeps getting boosted. Donations are still needed to make the farm sustainable. Money made past their original goal will go to building a milking room and obtaining cheese making equipment, long-term investments that are sorely needed if the farm is to continue and prosper. And for those who like perks (in addition to that warm, fuzzy feeling), there are some pretty neat incentives still up for grabs on the fundraising page.
