How James McAvoy got a bruise for playing the punching game with Hugh Jackman

I LOVE HIM A LOT
SEPARATE BUT EQUALLY IMPORTANT: THAT PICTURE TO DOING THINGS TO ME. THINGS. jesus.
Also I appreciate aesc’s tag here a lot: #you are a small violent weirdo
i just spent a considerable amount of time looking through my archives to find the post with that bottom picture on it again. STILL WORTH IT, my lord.
Chris Evans’ mom said his character in The Losers (Jake Jensen) is the most like Chris in real life.
bucky on a revenge trip? well sign me in
I could NEVER wear Steve’s uniform. I’m not him and I won’t pretend I am. … Just cause I’m not him doesn’t mean I can’t honor his memory.
( captain america v5 #34 )
You are a glorious human being, Chris Evans.
Things that have actually happened to me.gif
Think about this the next time you even dare suggest an artist lower their prices.
Me when people at cons say $5 sketches are ‘too expensive’ or are upset that I now charge $10 for full figures.
Honestly I have never seen a tumblr artists’ commission prices and thought “too expensive.” I understand it’s a fan community, but when the average retoucher charges 100$/hour and artists are charging like, 20$ max for like a FULL COLOURED THING PERSON THING??? i’m like WHAT??? I CAN”T EVEN FUCKING DRAW A BLOB that would take me 500 years why is it 20$ and i just sit there being like. so. what if i bought 20. or whatever.
the point is I think tumblr should look at creative services and what they charge. I shot casual grad photos as a favour for someone and it was 70$/30 minutes. FANDOM ARTISTS ARE GIVING IT TO YOU EASY LSKDJFLSDKJ
give them your money as fast as you can i don’t think this is sustainable nad you should get it while stocks laplease remember that tipping someone when you commission them is absolutely something you can do! artists have to set their prices to what the market average is on this site (which is woefully low) so tipping an extra £5 or £10 can really help. consider it next time you commission someone.
Pay artists what they are worth and for fucks sake don’t haggle with them, because you don’t get paid less based on some arbitrary bullshit, doesn’t mean you get to shortchange artists for their time.
Hell a lot of people really, really undercharge for what they are worth!

I got dressed in my traditional Indian regalia, but there was a man, he was the producer of the whole show. He took that speech away from me and he warned me very sternly. “I’ll give you 60 seconds or less. And if you go over that 60 seconds, I’ll have you arrested. I’ll have you put in handcuffs.”
– Sacheen Littlefeather in Reel Injun (2009), dir. Neil Diamond.
They were MAD, CONFUSED AND PRESSED that Marlon Brando would betray White Supremacy in this way.
To this very day, they are TWISTED over this.
And when Littlefeather got up there and READ THEM FOR FILTH, they GAGGED. For eons.
So I imagine there are people like me out there who’ve never even heard of Marlon Brando and are extremely confused over why this is important.
Marlon Brando was the Don in The Godfather, and in 1973, he was nominated for and won an Academy Award for it. However, he was also a huge Natives rights activist, and boycotted the ceremony because he felt that Hollywood’s depictions of Native Americans in the media led to the Wounded Knee Incident (which I was always taught as “the second massacre at Wounded Knee” but apparently that’s not the real name). He sent Sacheen Littlefeather, an Apache Native rights activist, in his stead. Wikipedia’s article on her explains the rest:
Brando had written a 15-page speech for Littlefeather to give at the ceremony, but when the producer met her backstage he threatened to physically remove her or have her arrested if she spoke on stage for more than 60 seconds.[5] Her on-stage comments were therefore improvised. She then went backstage and read the entire speech to the press. In his autobiography My Word is My Bond, Roger Moore (who presented the award) claims he took the Oscar home with him and kept it in his possession until it was collected by an armed guard sent by the Academy.
That is what this gifset is about.
You have GOT to read up on this. The Wounded Knee Incident, Marlon Brando and Sacheen Littlefeather, Anna Mae Aquash. ALL OF IT.
This scene. THESE WOMEN.
Okay, here’s my thing about this scene and it hit me when I first watched it but has taken me a while (and some conversation) to put into words.
Peggy, for a moment, seems rather uncomfortable with the idea of stealing food, where the other girls encourage it, even praising each other for it. This to me, seems to underline a real cultural difference. Peggy, having grown up in England with the rationing and the Blitz spirit, would have had a very much ‘make, do and mend’ mindset. What you had, you shared. Stealing or fiddling rations was not only very frowned upon by others, but could be punishable.
The American girls, on the flipside, probably grew up young in the Depression. When there was food, you took it and you took as much as you could, because who knows when it would be there again? They have made ingenious solutions to avoid waste, and to avoid hunger. They eat like women who have known what it feels like to not have anything to fill a hungry belly.
That being said, I don’t think less of either set of women. I just think it’s an interesting dichotomy.
Mostly, of course, yay lady friendships and MOAR PLEASE.
YES ALL OF THIS. It’s a total two-nations-divided thing, on one hand you’ve got the full on stiff upper lip oh no thanks awfully i’ve had quite enough versus, GIRL ARE YOU SERIOUS LEMME FILL YOUR HANDBAG WITH GRAVY.
Also, I love how surprised and impressed Peggy is by their resourcefulness. All the food-swiping would be the kind of thing you’d expect an observant spy to spot instantly, so the fact she hasn’t suggests to me that she’s either been absent from a lot of mealtimes or too wrapped up in her own concerns. And it leads me to hope this is the start of her becoming more integrated into the Griffith circle because LADY FRIENDSHIPS.
Also also I know having a moment where all the Griffith girls band together to get Peggy out of a jam like some sort of Voltron of Moxie would be as cheesy as hell but I STILL WANT IT
yes yes but most importantly CHICKEN POCKET
THIS WAS MY FAVORITE SCENE
Rather than being due to country of origin I think a lot of this comes down to class. Peggy is posh and probably went to a posh school. I doubt she ever went really hungry until she was out on missions. By the time rationing came around she probably would have been working for the SSR and probably got more rations than the general public.
I haven’t actually seen Agent Carter yet so I’m only going on info available from other stuff but I doubt Peggy grew up not knowing where her next meal would come from.
Also while there was make do and mend mentality and you shared what you had with you and yours there was a huge amount of crime and black market stuff during the war/Blitz. I’m sure there was a lot of getting what ever you could and everyone else can get stuffed.
