Oh, jeesus i did not realize it was the SAME PLACE and now it hurts SO MUCH WORSE.

I have the Captain America: The First Avenger script book (nerd, nerd, such a nerd XD) and one thing I found really interesting is that, in the original script, the bar wasn’t destroyed. This whole scene between Steve and Peggy still takes place, but it’s just Steve back in the same bar, trying to get drunk (and failing).

Making it a bombed-out wreck was such a brilliant decision, though. As well as making this scene utterly devastating (there’s nothing that isn’t completely heart-stomping about Steve crying and alone in the bombed-out shell of a place he was once happy) it also underscores how thoroughly there’s no going back. His friend is gone, and even the bar isn’t there anymore. The wreckage of the bar is the wreckage of his LIFE.

Ahhhh I didn’t recognise it now everything hurts even more.

I will never not reblog this gif set whenever it comes across my dash.

Yep, this dude always makes me feel less despairing about the human race. His face when he gets called a hero is like, “Wait, what? That is so ridiculous.” That tells me that he lives his life like that, and never stopped to think about it before someone shoved a camera in his face for it.

Hi, long time reader, fan, and one-time remixer. :) I have a question about Lucy in Fairy Tales and Clockwork Hearts. I’m sorry if someone’s asked this before. (I looked at the Fic FAQ and skimmed through all the comments on the fic, yes all 21 pages, and didn’t see any mention of this.) Anyway, what I want to know is, is the Lucy in Tales of the Bots the same Lucy as in Far Better Things Ahead? Because I didn’t realise until today that they were both called Lucy.

scifigrl47:

And the SciFiGrl47 No-Prize goes to you. 8)

Yes.  Lucy was the girl who took care of the bots in the IM3 aftermath fic, which is, of course, a different timeline/verse.

She changed some, and she’s a bit younger here, but I think she still likes Dummy. 8)

Ahaha, awesome, I accept my Non-Award with pride. I love knowing it’s true, that it’s the same character, just different versions. It makes both verses all the richer for me. Lucy and Dummy like each other in all potential realities!

  • fandom please I implore you all to talk about Dean Thomas more
  • literally yelling for a red card during a Quidditch match
  • painting a potter for president banner for his friend HOW CUTE
  • offering to forge a signature so that same friend could go to the village with the rest of them
  • actually he paints banners supporting Harry on two separate occasions four years apart
  • is it weirder that he keeps doing that or that Harry keeps getting himself into situations where he requires banners
  • good with a quill be still my beating heart the boy is an artist
  • literally not giving a single fuck that their teacher was a “dangerous half-breed” because he respected the hell out of him as a person and educator
  • IF YOU MEAN PROFESSOR LUPIN, HE WAS THE BEST WE EVER –
  • and he grew up as a muggle so he had already been exposed to werewolf folklore and he had every excuse to be afraid or prejudiced and instead decided to judge him on a human level, even without the familiarity the trio etc. had to him
  • standing up for that same teacher time and time again
  • including to a ministry official who he just generally gave the sass to anyway
  • never losing his faith in Harry even when his very best friend in the whole world and approximately 89% of the wizarding community basically thought the bloke was a nutjob
  • convincing his best mate to join DA
  • there was a fair bit of an anti-dean sentiment in HBP best to ignore that then
  • never having any animosity towards his friend for getting together with his ex-girlfriend so soon
  • completely supporting and defending Harry while on the run because OBVIOUSLY why stop now after seven years of doing literally that at every single opportunity
  • being completely bemused by but always kind towards Luna
  • helping to dig the grave on the beach
  • running out into the final battle without a fucking wand
  • evidently winning one at some point
  • everything to do with him and Seamus however you want to view their relationship but frankly I could do a whole other post on that
  • also I met Alfie once and he was so pretty

[Images are of a table with red, yellow, and green stickers as well as a sign on it. The sign explains that they are interaction stickers to let attendees know your interaction preferences.]

LinuxCon added communication stickers to their their con! Thank you for increasing access- we hear it went over well!

This is a fantastic step forward, a great way to help people of all abilities and neurotypes interact safely in a shared space, but, a reminder! The original traffic light badge system piloted by the autistic community involved symbols as well as colours so that people who are colourblind could follow the system too. Since red-green colourblindness is one of the commonest forms, and red and green are polar opposites in what kind of interaction a person wants, please, if you want to do a communication system, remember that colourblindness is a thing and put symbols on your badges/stickers.

[on diversity in media] I think its social responsibility. I think it’s our responsibility to stand up and say what we want. It think if you look at television in the past two years, it’s becoming the decade of the female. Like, all these new shows with female leads. Even if you look at television, as well as cable, as well as films, there’s been a resurgence, as far as the leading woman in Hollywood, which is great. And I think we’re also at the point now…you know, it’s interesting…x

What it was going to be, we were trying to complicate the relationship between Cap and his S.H.I.E.L.D agent friends. If Hawkeye got a call from S.H.I.E.L.D saying Captain America is a fugitive, would he listen to that call or not listen to that call? That sequence actually was heartbreaking for us to cut it. I think it ultimately might have been a conflict with Renner’s schedule. But there was a great sequence where Hawkeye was chasing Cap through Washington D.C. there was an awesome sequence where they confronted each other in a ravine on the outskirts of D.C. and Hawkeye was shooting a series of arrows closing in on Cap, Cap closing in on him. And then Cap took him down and he realized for the first time that Hawkeye was trying to trick S.H.I.E.L.D, where he whispered something into Cap’s ear that Cap had a tracker on his suit and to punch Hawkeye to make it look real, because there was a Quinjet hovering above where they were watching the feedback back at S.H.I.E.L.D. So it was a cool sequence.

omg for real? whyyy? i wish that hadn’t been cut. :(((((

(via spiralstreesandcupsoftea)

I really wish it hadn’t been cut, too, but I don’t think that anything they did with the film makes this canon-incompatible, so I’m just adding it to the head canon I’ve already amassed.
