Neither of them commented on the picture of them which has now gone viral. When, after the verdict, Mr. Rogers leaped the gate to tug Mr. Barnes down into a kiss, a member of the audience took a photograph of the moment and uploaded it to twitter. The original tweet was swiftly deleted, but copies of the picture continue to circulate and seem unlikely to disappear from the internet. Some people are already calling the picture “a disgrace” and demanding that indecency charges be levied, but others are far happier.

Done for radialarch and nuitdenovembre’s courtroom drama, United States v. Barnes, 617 U.S. 143 (2015)This story is fantastic — the story itself is styled to resemble courtroom transcripts, text messages, news articles, and twitter feeds revolving around the trial of Bucky Barnes for crimes against humanity as the Winter Soldier. radialarch mentioned that it would be awesome if someone tried to do a courtroom sketch of one of the scenes. It wasn’t until I was nearly finished that I realized I should have done the lineart using a marker and pencil brush to make it look more like an authentic courtroom sketch – I’m still very rusty at this whole art thing. You should have seen the dust on my Wacom 😦

Gah I wish this could be better. It doesn’t do the fic justice. Please go read it!

From the archives of the Smithsonian Institute, on view for the first time at the exhibiton ‘Captain Amarica – the living legend and symbol of courage’, opening on Friday, July 4, 2013.

I recently visited an exhibition on war propaganda and was inspired to make some posters not only for Cap but also for Bucky, Peggy and the rest of the Howling Commandos. Some of the artists I referenced are Edward Penfield, Norman Rockwell and Joseph C. Leyendecker. Thanks to agentbartomanoff for beta-ing the slogans.

Peggy Carter shows up for her first day as head of SHIELD. Her first task is to interview the roomful of men and women (but mostly men) who are waiting outside her new office. She can only hire a handful and she has to pick the best to ensure that SHIELD doesn’t get shut down (and to prove that she’s capable of running the thing in the first place).

She’s been in plenty of fights before but she’s nervous as she approaches her desk for the first time because the people she hires today could decide the fate of the entire organization.

The door flings open and a young woman enters. She profusely apologizes for being late and introduces herself as Peggy’s assistant, hired by Howard to help her through the day to day minutia of running SHIELD. Peggy’s relieved for the help.

The day constitutes boring interviews and plenty of potential but eventually Peggy winds up with her first response team. Months go by and over time Peggy realizes that her assistant is a capable fighter and starts to bring her along on missions.

One day, Howard witnesses her in action and openly tells Peggy he wishes he could have a secretary that good. Peggy asks why Howard didn’t tell her the girl had combat experience. Howard reveals he never hired an assistant for Peggy.

Cue the reveal the the assistant was one of the initial job candidates. Realizing there were plenty of more experienced agents in the room and not wanting to miss out on being part of SHIELD, she decided to secure a job using the only way she knew – deceit. Turns out she was an undercover agent during the war and, like Peggy, she was told she was no longer needed once the men came home. She made it to that final SHIELD interview but saw that Peggy looked flustered and took advantage of the situation.

She’s made head of espionage instantly.

Captain America

I love AUs. SO. MUCH. And because I was looking at Tron stuff earlier and remembered the discs/frisbees and then the shield and then HEY Captain America Tron AU. Why not.

I hate trying to design those suits, though. Even more so when I have to work an existing suit into the design. Don’t even get me started on Bucky’s damn Winter Soldier suit, oh man. This is by no means a final design for Steve’s little Grid outfit, I just really wanted to fiddle around with the frisbee/shield thing. The lines are uneven because they were supposed to follow the points of the star that’s usually at the center there but I think it just looks wonky. Ah well, there’s always next time.

EDIT:

I’m laughing at myself because I originally left the center of his “shield” untouched and didn’t even think about how awkward that looked and then I was laying in bed and realized… the center of his shield is… open… unprotected… what good is that… And now this thing has been reblogged so many times with that mistake and I can’t update it.

E-Nabling the Future is an organization of volunteers who produce 3D-printed prosthetic superhero arms for kids in need.

This is bloody brilliant!

This is awesome!

I can’t help but think that the kid with the Wolverine claws is going to get in so much trouble because THAT IS WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU GIVE A CHILD WOLVERINE CLAWS IN ANY FORM.

Now if it was a toy you’d take it away.

But you can’t take it away. That isn’t a toy and that is his prosthetic hand and it would be really wrong and horrible to do that.

So I am giggling about that because YOU CAN NOT STOP HIM FROM POPPING HIS WOLVERINE CLAWS, OKAY? *SNIKT*
