Captain America: The Winter Soldier – concept art
Tag: awesome
I don’t have to color it! Yes! Less work! Now to just sit back and bask in the afterglow. ink on paper.
So someone on the Shrinkyclinks tag was like “skinny!steve given to the winter soldier tho”
and I was like yeeeeeeee
Hydra figures out a way to de-serum Steve and proceeds to make the fatal mistake of underestimating him. They think just cuz he’s tiny, he won’t be a threat. They think if they take away his voice and humiliate him by carving their sigil into his chest, he’ll lose the will to fight. They think giving him to whats left of his best friend will break his spirit.
they are so fucking wrong
Steve bides his time and when the moments right, he dismantles Hydra from the inside. They never should’ve underestimated Steve and they never should’ve let him near the weapon he’s known how to fire since childhood; Bucky goddamn Barnes

Modern Disney Girl – MERIDA!
Why short hair?
Merida was a young, teenage rebel. In the movie, she was always against the way of princess lifestyle. And her hair show this very good – in her times woman should braid her hair, cover them – but she always had this “mess” on her head.
What would modern Merida do? She would cut her hair, because many of people would say to her – you have such a lovely, curly, red hair, you should be so proud, don’t shave it, cut it…
But she would surely do that. That fits her character.
Modern Disney Girls – Tiana and Charlotte
Modern Disney Girl – Ariel
OH SHIT THAT LAST ONE
ok, ok so this is more than Bucky asking Steve to move in with him:
All you gotta do is shine my shoes, maybe take out the trash…
he’s asking Steve to move in with him rent-free. how much you want to bet Steve was going to art school at the time – so on top of having his mother die, he was going to have to quit school to support himself. And there’s Bucky saying you don’t have to do this alone, let me help with what I have…
#(also for the love of god somebody tell us what year this is supposed to be) (via legete)
hardboiledmeggs and I were discussing this, and she suggested mid-1930s, based on Bucky’s hair (slicked back) and attire. Can’t see it here, but he’s wearing a wide tie, and a (double-breasted?) suit with wide lapels, so I would guess around 1938, which is when the heavily padded shoulders and wide trousers came into vogue (in part due to the popularity of gangster films, which is what I thought of when I saw Bucky’s outfit). For reference, that makes Steve 19 and Bucky 20 when the scene takes places.
I’d just like to state my deep appreciation that someone dated this thanks to fashion history. God bless fandom.

In a fandom with many beautiful stories where the narrator or the information they hold as truth may be unreliable, this is something I think is unique and special. Brightwork just finished posting today, and it’s a story I’ve followed with interest since it began. notoska takes a fascinating ‘what if?’ premise and teases it out over twenty-two chapters as the characters travel around the world, tracking down the remnants of Hydra and finding tiny pieces of the puzzle. There’s a tension that runs through the whole story that’s equal to any conspiracy thriller, and the reveal, when it finally happens, is so small and subtle that you’d be forgiven for thinking it completely opaque unless you’ve got a very good memory for minutiae (or you do what I do, dig back into the story and find the answer) and realise its profound significance. It’s not a story for people who need everything wrapped up in a bow or are unsatisfied with open endings, but for those of you (like me) who love a story for the beauty of its construction, for those who love seeing characters struggle and don’t need to see them triumph, just survive, for those who like to see Steve, Bucky, Sam and Natasha questioning everything they know, then this story is for you.
Try and tell me this movie sucks, just try.
This sequence—actually, their whole story—did so much for my self-esteem, you just have no idea.
I have no idea what this movie is, but I approve of the way this gentleman thinks.
I don’t think I’ve seen Love Actually since it came out. I feel like I’m due for a rewatch this holiday season, because I didn’t even remember this subplot.
I clearly need to do a While You Were Sleeping / Love Actually double header for the youths who have not encountered their dysfunctional brilliance.
New superhero comic, Spark!
![]()
Hey, everyone! This is the creator of Little Girls Are Better At Designing Superheroes Than You, here with a post I thought you all might like. Writer Ted Anderson and I have made a pitch for a superhero comic!
The comic is about nine-year-old Lucia Marquez-Miller, who loves engineering, and uses her telekinetic powers to build and take things apart with her mind. She calls this power her spark!
As Spark, the world’s youngest superhero, she’s a junior member of a superhero team while also trying to live a normal life. Can Lucia juggle her friends and family while also saving the world from supervillains?
We’re posting a 15-page standalone comic here on tumblr to give readers an idea of what the book would be like.

Imagine Steve bringing various men home to the tower and then leaving in the morning hair mussed and disheveled. Unlike what the avengers thought, Steve was bringing models into the tower so he could draw them and they usually stayed over for early morning finishing touches.
Steve knows perfectly well what it looks like, it’s just that, well, he doesn’t really care what the other Avengers think, and plus Tony choking on his spit every time it happens just never gets old.
Sometimes he even pauses before entering rooms so he can listen in on the discussions about what the hell he’s been doing with these young men.
The best one is when Jeff, the dark-haired guy with the scar that bisects his eyebrow, stands on tiptoe to kiss Steve’s cheek on his way out. He says, “thanks, sugar. Let’s do this again sometime,” and Steve watches in the mirror beside the door as Clint coughs into his coffee, spraying it all over his face and the chair behind him.
He tries not to smirk as he shoves his hands into his hoodie pockets. “Gonna head back to bed for a bit,” he says, “didn’t get a lot of sleep last night.”
He thinks he might have cracked a rib trying to hold in his laughter as he heads back to his room, listening to Clint sputter behind him.
#steve trolling the rest of the avengers is my l i f e b l o o d#not your goody two shoes#straight up honest to god troll#he can see the shadows of the others moving behind his door#and just#pointedly says ‘yeah darling move up a bit just like that oh you look gorgeous like so#appreciatively grunts#ofc he warns his models he doesnt want them to get uncomfortable#but cmon anyone presented with the chance of pulling any of the avengers’ leg#would be so in cahoots#bless their souls#txt it#shrinkalink
Headcanon accepted.
Lesbian History: World War II and Beyond
In honor of the 45th anniversary of the Stonewall riots and LGBT Pride Month (in the US), here’s a fascinating article about lesbians during World War II, focusing on those in the Women’s Army Corps (WAC). It also includes an annotated bibliography for further research – always a bonus for history nerds like us.
