An archaeological dig on the Menemonee Reservation in Wisconsin yielded a clay pot. The pot was dated to 800 years ago and contained seeds. Some of the seeds were planted to see if 800 year old seeds were viable. An ancient squash was the result.
This is the coolest fucking thing, and don’t try and tell me otherwise.
The next time somebody gives you shit about your late autism diagnosis, remember that Anthony Hopkins was diagnosed as autistic when he was 70 years old.
People can go almost their whole lives and never know they’re autistic, but recognize they feel different from their peers.
And BTW Anthony Hopkins stims by rubbing his hands together, and being autistic is exactly why he’s such a good actor. He studies people’s mannerisms with an analytical mind, adopts those mannerisms for characters and turns out awesome performances. He’s a chameleon.
And he’s one of us, autistic community.
I didn’t know he’s Autistic! That’s so cool!!!
I didn’t know this either! Welcome, Sir Anthony Hopkins!
thor ragnarok fight scene but holding out for a hero is playing
I was fluttery and charmed and delighted by one of my fave cheesy songs x Chris Hemsworth the Lightning God, but then Valkyrie came on and I made this involuntary guttural moaning sound and sank into the couch with my legs spread.
Hhhhhhholy shit. Hhhhholy SHIT can I please just … UGH.
It’s HEEEEEERE! My new book is live. It’s a Regency romance! With lesbians! Perfect for light weekend reading!
I am DOPILY EXCITED to share this with you. It’s a long time coming. Also, I love the cover.
This is the book I reblogged about last week that people were interested in – the ebook is now out! (The print book takes longer.)
The Covert Captain
Nathaniel Fleming, veteran of Waterloo, falls in love with his Major’s spinster sister, Harriet. But Nathaniel is not what he seems, and before the wedding, the truth will out…
Eleanor Charlotte Fleming, forgotten daughter of a minor baronet, stakes her life on a deception and makes her name—if not her fortune—on the battlefield. Her war at an end, she returns to England as Captain Nathaniel Fleming and wants nothing more than peace, quiet, and the company of horses. Instead, Captain Fleming meets Harriet. Harriet has averted the calamity of matrimony for a decade, cares little for the cut of her gowns, and is really rather clever. Falling in love is not a turn of the cards either of them expected. Harriet accepts Captain Fleming, but will she accept Eleanor? Along the way, there are ballrooms, stillrooms, mollyhouses, society intrigue, and sundering circumstance.
I haven’t read it in final form yet (I’m off to buy it in a moment) but I got to read some of the initial draft a while ago, and I really enjoyed it. I can safely vouch for the quality of its prose! 🙂
React just did an episode where their reactors got to see a full screening of the movie, and it’s great! Especially since over half of the reactors they had (Danny, Morgan, Sharon, Jonathan, and Dionte) are gay and shared their stories and how much the movie affected them. Also everybody was crying.
