deaf iranian girl who wears rather large, beautiful rings to punch the people who disrespect her
Okay so imagine the villain has captured a girl the protagonist cares about and is all like “I’ll kill her unless you give me the macguffin!”
And the hero’s like “that will never happen! I love her and she loves me! Right?”
And the girl’s like “um…this isn’t the best time.”
And the protagonist screams she’s a friendzoning whore and abandons her.
And the villain’s like “fuck that guy” and teaches her how to walk in thigh-high leather boots.

ANNE THE RIVETER AND THE RIVETED RABBIT
Those of you who have ever wanted to learn a trade or a skill know that it seems quite daunting. There’s so much to master and it can feel like you’re putting yourself on the line. Take some advice from Anne Bujold, welder and blacksmith. Start small and work your way up to the big stuff.
Anne’s interest in metalwork started in jewelry making. As her skills grew and she became proficient at fabricating bigger and better things, the possibilities continued to grow in her mind. The knowledge she gained in classes and from mentors led her to expand the concepts of what she considered herself capable of doing.
Knowledge is power. The saying may be old and trite, but it doesn’t make it any less true. When you want something, get your feet wet. Learn as much as you can. Keep an open mind and open ears to hear advice and encouragement. Being a woman in what is typically a man’s world may take a little more elbow grease in the long run. Don’t let that dampen your spirit. Use it as fire to fuel the flames of your passion.
One of Anne’s favorite aspects metalwork is the rush she feels as she wields her hammer. Forging hot metal is dangerous and powerful. Keep that in mind as you view some of her finished work above. Don’t let the fanciful nature of her art fool you into forgetting the labor and ingenuity behind each bend and curve.Anne’s workwear: Carhartt Women’s Zip-Front Sweatshirt, Carhartt Women’s Calumet Crewneck T-Shirt, Carhartt Women’s Clarkston Cami Tank, Carhartt Women’s Relaxed-Fit Canvas Cane Dungaree, & Carhartt Women’s Quick Flex Glove
I want to try metalworking again! I did a little bit in a college sculpture class when I was 19 but I honestly I don’t know of anywhere you could take a class here.
(Backdated repost of Yellin’ About Art, made after I figured out a) how themes on Tumblr worked to best effect and b) that you can’t retroactively edit a text post into a photo post).
This is incredible. This is everything I felt but could never put into words when my art teacher raved about Hirst. I felt like yelling, too.
Can’t stop won’t stop
I would hang something like this on my wall, no lie.
Really? Would anyone else be interested? Bc I would be happy to do these as (very cheap) commissions or trades or something. Actually, iamshadow21, I will totally send you one for free bc you sent me a hat once and I still love it!
I’m really in love with the flames/curls look of the one on the left, so something like that would be amazing.
Tell you what, you make one for me and I’ll try to do one of my epic black and white line drawing things I used to do a lot of about ten years ago. I’ll need to buy a decent pen next time I’m in town, but apart from that, I think it’d be fun and would take me a couple of hours at most. They turn out sort of halfway between a fractal and a fingerprint. I was going to show you a pic of one, but my drawing notebook is in a box somewhere, and not with the other art stuff in the kitchen as I’d thought. As it has been the better part of a decade since I drew anything, I can’t guarantee the quality, but if all else fails I’ll draw you a rainbow mosaic – all I need for that is a flat surface, a ruler and a tin of coloured pencils, and I’ve got all those. Both are amazingly stimmy things to draw – a teacher showed my class how to draw the mosaics in fourth grade, and the pen drawing was a thing I sort of made up when I was around eighteen – nineteen – twentyish.
