iamshadow21 replied to your post “FYI (for when it’s back up) I’m on pillowfort as Srprincess too. It’s…”

Are you going to revive patelyne on dreamwidth until pillowfort revives, or do you have a new handle there?

I did log into dreamwidth earlier – after a password rescue because I couldn’t remember my login – so I *could* get back and post on there, but since it’s been five years I think everyone has given up on me. Possibly any posts I make there are worse than shouting into the void?

…I’m hoping Pillowfort is back up soon, but if not I will probably give dw another go though. If I do it will still be under the Patelyne account, I won’t make a new one.

(I suppose I could expand my twitter from the 50:50 politics shouting/hockey retweets it is currently too)

*hugs* good to know

I don’t have a twitter, but I did just create an instagram because too many of the people I follow are visual artists to no, and Flickr is dying anyway, so,
i.am.shadow.21 over at instagram though the username format HURTS MY SOUL there was no other combo of letters to get anything resembling the handle I’ve had for over fifteen years.

Tumblr “Find Me” Directory

copperbadge:

A directory of social media handles so people can find you on other sites. Once you fill out the form (none of the questions are required so in theory you can just hit “submit” without answering anything, but you can also just View Here) you will be able to access, but not edit, a spreadsheet of everyone’s handles across their social media.

As the disclaimer banner says, EVERYTHING you enter into this form is made public so you know, be careful. If you don’t want two of your handles linked…don’t put ‘em both in there.

I can’t think of a genuine reason this would be a bad idea but it’s a lot of data about people and their personal names that’s easily scrapeable so you know, if you can argue that this is a really bad idea for X reason, I’m willing to listen and delete as necessary.

I have added my stuff to this, and am happy for people to add me on DW or on Pillowfort whenever it’s back up, but please, folks, if your user name is different (or even just your icon) A REMINDER THAT I STRUGGLE WITH THAT, so message me with who you are/were and give me a chance of knowing, because, otherwise, I probably won’t make the connection.

Happy Hanukkah, everyone, from these two jerks! I’m posting this a little early this year. Line art by the amazing Ro Stein & Ted Brandt, and colour art by @deecunniffe

I want to point out what a technical achievement this story is on the art side. There’s a real joy to creating a whole story in eight panels, but this? This is some magic. We introduce four new characters. In panel 5, SIX PEOPLE are talking. SIX. In the world of comics, that’s almost un-doable.

Yet Ro and Ted arranged everything so the conversations flow and are sensibly grouped, all the “acting” is fantastic, and then Dee laid on top these beautiful, almost fairytale colours – look at the subtle work, the blush in Henry’s cheeks, Frank’s five o-clock shadow, the shine of the wine bottle’s glass surface, the light texturing in the backgrounds… and of course the snow! This is some first-class illustration work on an incredibly hard script. (I fear Ro and Ted always get me at my worst – my very formalist script for them in the 24 Panels anthology was no cakewalk either. (The problem is, they’re just so damn good at it… check out their work on the Image comic Crowded!)

As always, if you like what we do in Hells Kitchen Movie Club, consider donating a little to a veteran’s charity

(I also have a thriller novel I’m crowdfunding, please check it out, we are more than halfway there. The book is all written…)

I AM CRYING THIS IS GORGEOUS

political-me:

As U.S. President, George H.W. Bush, among other things, cut AIDS research funding, banned HIV-Positive people from entering the country, encouraged “behavioral change” to the exclusion of comprehensive sexual education, and extended/expanded many of the murderous AIDS policies of Ronald Reagan, for whom Bush served as Vice President. By the end of 1993, over 194,000 HIV/AIDS related deaths had been reported in the United States. Approximately 133,000 of which were during Bush’s one term as President. Between 1987 and 1992, the median age at death among men in the United States that died from HIV/AIDS related causes was 38; among women the median age was 34. George H.W. Bush died November 30th 2018 at the age of 94. May he rot in Hell alongside Ronald Reagan! 🖕

THANK YOU FOR THIS POST. If I saw one more news headline today about how great this mass murderer was I was gonna barf.

If you were raised Mormon but no longer are, you are either

1. Afraid of the Mormon church and will say nothing bad about because they’re listening

OR

2. Ready to fistfight Joseph Smith in temple square

3. Ready to make out gayly in Temple Square while flipping the bird.

“I was raised Catholic” just translates to “I’m an atheist, but I feel kinda bad about it.”

“I was raised Mormon” means I’m gunna call myself agnostic and also I have anger issues

I was raised Mormon also comes with a buttload of desperate perfectionistic thought patterns that when you combine them with executive fuction issues that come with autism and/or ADHD pretty much guarantee you spend your life not only feeling like an unworthy failure, but being judged by your entire family. (Double down if you’re queer.) Congratulations! You fucked up a perfectly good kid is what you did. Look at it. It’s got anxiety. And no self-esteem. (And anger issues.)
