Recently Farrell caught up with the M*A*S*H family to share a story. In the process, he captured in a few short paragraphs what no writer outside the family circle ever could:
“For the first time in many years I returned to the Fox lot to work on a miniseries [FX’s American Crime Story]. On the second day, I was told to report to stage 10 and did. Once my work was completed for the day, I couldn’t resist the temptation to wander over to stage 9 to see what, if anything, being there would bring back for me. I have to say it was a magical couple of minutes. Pushing through the big door I stepped in and immediately traveled back almost 35 years. The sense of familiarity and warmth was so great I almost laughed aloud. I was overcome with memories. The smell of the place, the feelings that came to me, were completely comfortable, welcoming and embracing. Visions of all of you and so many more flooded over me. The jokes; the laughs; the deep, thoughtful conversations; the tricks; the clowning; the long days; and the good, hard, powerful work were all somehow still there. It was as though a vestige of everything we put into the show had somehow been imbued in the bones of the place. I think it has. And I am the luckiest actor in the world for having had the good fortune to be part of that company.”

Modern Witch Tarot Deck Q & A
Will there be a full deck?
-100% yes. I’ve found a publisher, more details soon! When will it be released?
-No exact date yet, sadly. Designing 78 cards takes time, but I’m working as fast as I can! Will there be an accompanying book?
-Most likely there will be.Sorry to everyone interested that I can’t give more specific answers yet! I promise I’ll post more info when I have things solidly in place. Progress is slow at the moment because I can only work on these cards in my spare time, but that will change in the upcoming months.
And thanks for the support! In the meantime, you can always purchase prints of the cards at my web store!
This looks amazing!
The framing around autistic people not wanting to do things because their autism makes the things unpleasant is really fucking weird.
I don’t like going to nightclubs.
The main reason I don’t like it is that the noise causes me to meltdown.
And allistics see this as this huge, evil thing.
“Omg, poor Lucy, how will she ever live?”
And I’m just like,
Bitch, if you don’t like spicy food, because you were born with a low tolerance for spicy food, no one’s crying their fucking eyes out like
“Poor baby, how ever will she cope with only being able to order mild curries?”
People don’t like shit.
People don’t have to like shit.
And this weird thing where if the reason I don’t like something can be seen to be to do with my autism, I MUST BE FORCED TO ENJOY IT is fucking annoying and needs to stop.
Yeah but this only applies if you’re disabled.
If you’re allistic and you’re like “eh, don’t like clubs” nobody gives a shit but if you’re autistic and you’re like “eh, don’t like clubs” suddenly everybody thinks you’d be better off having never been born
As an autistic person, I agree with this in general, but there’s also this whole culture of shaming/bullying introverted (not necessarily autistic) people into doing things for their own good. I wasn’t DXed with autism until I was an adult, and I have a bunch of introverted friends who’ve experienced this too. I know one who had to leave her job because management kept making her do presentations ‘for her own good’ despite her only being hired to do data entry. Her stress got so severe she was having panic attacks in the car park. There’s this idea that being an extrovert is the right way to be and that all introverts should strive to be extroverts despite it being really toxic for us to try to be ‘on’ and ‘out there’ all the time against our nature. So, yes, it happens a huge amount to us autistics, but our introverted friends cop it too.
keep your friends close, but your enemies closer
like really, very close
intimately close
so close that you can feel your enemies breath on your neck
and you shiver with hatred and… anticipation?
turn around and look deep into your enemies eyes, letting your gaze drag down to their lips, your eyes intense with desire. push your enemies up against the wall.
make out with your enemies.
your friends, who are still close, are super uncomfortable and kinda grossed out

And now, I take you to… The Weather.
The person who was coming, wo makes me feel unsafe, migt be staying somewhere else. But I’ll believe it when it actually happens, and not a moment before. In the mean time, I’ll be over here, struggling not to dissociate, chewing my nails down, and walking 6kms a day to deal with the mental health bullshit this stirred up.
Oh, yeah, I’m walking again, because i need to, and because it’s finally starting to cool down. Gosh I miss walking in Hill End. Walking in Sydney is the worst.
Just over two years ago, we lost Ta, my much-beloved stepfather, to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. It was incredibly sudden, and there wasn’t anything they could do but make him comfortable. With future research, maybe there will be something more that can be offered to people like Ta than palliative care.

Unexpected Benefit of Black Panther: my local pet shelters went from having something like 50-60 black cats between them to having NONE, becuase they’ve all been adopted out and named after the characters. “T’challa” is the most popular, but there are a fair number of “Okoye”s and “Shuri”s as well.
…and one very confused Elderly Humane Society Volunteer wondering why someone would name such a sweet cat “Killmonger”.
As the proud mamas of three former strays named Nick, Sam, and Winter, two of whom are black, black cats are the BEST. Sam almost got called T’Challa, but we thought Sam would be easier for us white people to yell at dinner time.
